Good As Gold Building

Good As Gold Coffee is a family-owned and operated business for over forty years. Started by the Goldman family in the late 60's, Good As Gold was one of the first to recognize that there was a need for both better quality coffees and a better way of brewing those coffees. In 1973, Dan Goldman traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East experiencing specialty coffees and brewing methods unlike those found in the USA. While Americans were satisfied with drinking brand name coffees without knowing what was inside the can, the Europeans demanded freshly roasted coffees from identified points of origin. In the mid 80’s, Good as Gold sold its coffees at Spag’s in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Spag’s was considered an early pioneer of discount retailing and because of the opportunity that Spag and Olive Borgatti gave to Dan Goldman, Good As Gold was able to showcase its coffees and build loyal customers throughout the United States.

Recognizing the need to mate the best coffees with the latest technologies to create a consistently delicious brew, Good As Gold started offering high quality varietal and estate coffees to its customers along with the newest coffee brewing systems outfitted with top of the line water filtration systems. This combination allowed Good As Gold to be one of the first companies in the United States to introduce the best tasting coffees at work, at the finest restaurants and at home. Good As Gold coffee offerings include single origin, organic, fair trade, flavored and inspired blends.  Through the years, Good As Gold has expanded its product selection and services to meet the changing needs of its customers. Whether it is the best in single-cup brewing, or the healthiest and best-tasting smoothies, or teas that have that “wow effect”, Good As Gold can always be counted on to deliver. In 2006 Mike Goldman came on board and has been instrumental in bringing Good As Gold’s Old World Values to today’s New World Ways. Graduating from Assumption College, Mike has brought a lot of great ideas and hard work to the family business.

 In 2012 Jay Goldman came on board specializing in customer service and sales.  His friendly yet serious personality bodes well to insure that Good As Gold customers will always be well taken care of.  Also in 2012, Pat Goldman took over the reigns of Presidency so that Dan Goldman can devote more time for customer support and strategic planning.
