Kona coffee lies on the western slopes of the enormous volcanoes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa. Because of the tropical climate and volcanic soils, it can make for some of the most interesting coffees in the world. It is the only coffee indigenous to the United States. It is also one of the priciest coffees in the world but not always the best for the cost. The coffee tends to be mild, with medium low acidity, and a smooth well rounded mouth feel. Sometimes you can pick up a 'tangyness' that we find unique to Hawaii.
